WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE BLOOMFIELD STEELERS
BLOOMFIELD STEELERS ARE BACK!
|
The 2008 Season was full of growth and learning! Each team had at least 70% new players. New players to the Bloomfield Steelers and NEW TO THE GAME OF FOOTBALL.
Every coach worked very hard to teach the kids the fundamentals of football and cheering. More importantly, they taught our kids life skills to include setting personal goals, fulfilling our committments, working as a team, selflessness above selfishness, leadership, tolerance of differences and respect for authority. Every player saw both sides of the ball in practice and/or the games. Each cheerleader filled various positions in the squad for the squad to succeed. These opportunities are rare in most sports but it remains the philosophy of the Steelers' coaching staff. Let's face it, we entrust our kids and their safety into the hands of our coaches. We judge them but expect them not to judge our kids. We expect a winning season without giving the coaches 100% attendance at practices. We expect them to speak kindly to our kids, when we don't do the same to them. Coaching is a hard job and we were fortunate to have dedicated coaches! If you have ideas for better training, conditioning, game plays, motivation techniques, and team success, don't waste another day! Contact the Athletic Director, Mr. Parshall to see how you can help the 2009 coaching staff. Our kids deserve continuing excellence from the coaching staff.
Every parent experienced their fair share of difficulties too. You all worked HARD getting the kids to practice on time, expecting 100% effort at practice, committing ourselves to GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, showing respect for others, and most of all, tolerating the differences that make each family unique! Parents, you made a difference in your kids' lives. You made memories they will treasure. You introduces them to friends they may never forget. Each kid grew in one way or another over the past 3 months. Thanks for making that happen!
A special thanks goes to the parents that took the Code of Conduct to heart and upheld it! We are so fortunate to have families of ethics and morals. To those who rose above the gossip, the difference of opinions, spoke respectfully to the coaches and other families instead of behind their backs,,, WE CONGRATULATE YOU! WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE YOU! Your efforts of good sportsmanship did not go unnoticed!
Thanks you to all those who volunteered! Football is unique because the game day functions depend 100% on the parents. We send a special thanks to the many that asked to help before being chased down and to those who didn't want to do another duty, but did so without a whisper to discontent. We apologize for asking you to do more than others,,,, but you were dependable and we were grateful to have your support.
The Board of 2008 can't say THANK YOU enough! You have been the greatest Bloomfield Steelers family we had in past 3 years. The Steeler's family is a collection of families from Canandaigua, Farmington, Victor, Bloomfield, Honeoye, Springwater, Naples, and Bristol. You should be proud of the 2008 season! We worked hard, learned alot about football and became
BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER!!
